Today my dad was missing my grandfather, although he acted all cool, I could see it in his eyes, he was very sad and crying from inside. He covered it by telling us about his father, that he was very honest, sincere, and had certain principles that he lived by. He always had clarity on what he wanted in life, and just went after it, no matter the hurdles he might face. He never said or did anything to please people, he did what felt was right!
He was the first one from our family to do a 'proper paid job' (earlier farming was the only source of livelihood, being 'thakur' we had enough so as to not get a job) he got a job as a government teacher, all my relatives used to make fun of him, "Thakur doesn't work for others! we are meant to provide work". But despite all the taunts he took the job and did it with utmost sincerity, for teaching was not only his source of income but moreover his passion.
Even "Buddha" was Kshatriya and he chose a different path and became a "guru"(teacher) to many and guided them on how to lead life.
My grandfather and my father are an inspiration to me! After all, I am their daughter I ought to be like them, my dad always looked up to my grandfather and he has made himself in such a way that now we look up to him. Maybe someday, my kids will also be able to say the same! 😌
